Wine Country

Last week my parents came out from Missouri to visit us in LA. We then drove up the Pacific Coast Highway to visit the beautiful wine country of Napa and Sonoma. The views were breathtaking as we drove up the coast.

Jonathan has unveiled his new passion recently for wine and plans on becoming a Sommelier. The fine dining restaurant he works at, Drago Centro (check out Jonathan in LA magazine), allowed us to get the insider's take on the wine country. We spent our first morning with the first female Sommelier of Los Angeles and the founder of Discoveries in Wine. She took us to the Cimarossa Vineyard and we enjoyed a quaint lunch in the owners amazing home. We then proceeded to spend the afternoon with winemaker Bill Arbios of Arbios wine. We arrived first at his house, then drove his land rover to his vineyard which was placed beautifully on the mountain. The wine sampling topped the experience as he pulled down the tailgate of his rover and laid out a spread of wines and cheese. The following day we experienced that grand estate of Hartford wines and a tour and wine tasting was conducted by Mr. Hartford himself. The remainder of the trip was spent between Santa Rosa, San Francisco and of course we put in our time in downtown Los Angeles.

Needless to say, we had a wonderful time.

I love this one that Jonathan took!
