Nathan & Katie: An Art Deco wedding at the Haiku Mill

Nathan & Katie were another couple that we just fell in love with..... that seems to happen a lot. But these two fulfilled our lifelong dreams of photographing not only a red headed bride but a handle bar mustached groom! Their art deco wedding was whimsical and full of life, beautiful flowers, good company and of course crazy love.

Nige & Merissa: A wedding in the land of OZ

Following our wedding in Fiji in 2012, we headed over to Australia to capture Nige & Merissa's big day. Aussies are about the most welcoming folk we've come across. Not only do they all seem to have a great sense of humor intact, they are jolly and completely lovable! These two were great fun and opted for a 1950's inspired wedding at their own historical family theater. The venue was so fitting to host their forever vows as it has been a continuous labor of love restoring it to it's former glory. Cheers to vintage mustangs, movie reels and cupcakes.

Dane & Anise: A stellar event at the Haiku Mill

This wedding was something you'd see in a magazine--- matter of fact it was featured in Pacific Weddings magazine in a lovely spread. If you review our work often, you are familiar with the stunning wedding venue the Haiku Mill. In these photos however you will notice quite a transformation  from it's traditional glory into something new entirely. The event, designed by Pacific Weddings own editor Robyn I'aea, was truly grand from the flower girl tea party and the wine and cheese pairings during the cocktail hour down on through the evening with the live creme brulee station. Without further ado, Dane & Anise...

Ben & Katie: A Destination Fiji Wedding

One of our many adventures last year was shooting a wedding in Fiji! Though they were from Australia, Katie and Ben booked us for their 1920's themed wedding and began planning an intimate week with family and friends at their destination of choice: Viti Levu, Fiji. When the day finally came to elevate our relationship from pen pals to photographers, our relationship developed into a genuine friendship without hesitation. Many late nights in Fiji left us roaring in laughter between Jonathan's impersonations of anything and everything and the sheer amusement of the highly entertaining Aussie accents all around us. Is there such a thing as soulfriends? I think yes.

A Multi-cultural Wedding by Belle Destination Events: Haiku Mill

This was one of our favorite weddings of all time! This multi-cultural event was a melting pot of beauty, fun, love and laughter. Here is a snippet from Belle Destination Events:

To create the setting they envisioned, we set up plush Turkish rugs, tons of accent pillows, coffee tables, varied vintage decor pieces, side tables, and nick knacks, giving the Mill's lounge ares the feel of an exotic living room. The dining tables themselves were all unique and inviting, accenting different elements of glass, drift wood, overflowing arrangements of flowers and fruit, and candles, candles, candles!  Instead of mounting a temporary trellis, the oh-so talented Bella Bloom attached individual vines and blooms to the existing vines that crawled up the entry way to the Mill.  Instead of bringing in glassware for the accent arrangements, we utilized the weathered and moss-covered ceramic urns from the Mill itself, and filled them with an abundance of flowers, falling over the edges to add on over-grown affect.

Rob & Lindsey: Honua Kai Lani (Sugarman Estate)

We enjoyed this wedding so much! These two were so natural, easy going and completely in love. They wanted their destination wedding to reflect the local lifestyle and they did so by serving up local kine grinds and even shave ice! The night was full of laughter and tears-- a true celebration of a new life together. We were quite sure as the day unfolded, that there was magic in the air. We may or may not have both had a good cry during the father of the bride speech...

A Bohemian Holiday Shoot

Though I'm behind on blogging, I had to share this holiday shoot while it was still in season! We teamed up with Opihi Love Boutique Rentals & Event Design to create a bohemian bridal shoot with holiday inspiration. Melissa of Opihi Love is incredibly talented and offers an unbelievable inventory of unique decor and rentals. If you are planning on getting married on Maui and want a wedding with great personality, she's the gal to call. Of course the stunning couple and other incredible vendors helped a bit as well....

Patrick & Erin: A Swiss Alps Wedding

As I seem to subtly state in each blog post these days, I am terrible at keeping up on blogging. We have SO many fabulous weddings this year to share but are fighting for the opportunity to do so. We've been excited to share this wedding we shot this summer in Switzerland for some time now and the day has finally arrived! These two were married in a tiny little village in the heart of the Swiss Alps in an ancient church and yours truly (that'd be me and Jonathan) travelled halfway across the world to capture the nuptials.

Let me just preface: Erin & Patrick are adventurers. We were particularly pleased with this trait of theirs when we heard the predictions of rain. To say it rained a bit, is beyond an understatment. We are not talking of a dainty sprinkle or a dusting of rain, but rather torrential downpour. DOWNPOUR. Nevertheless they were troopers and even allowed us to photograph them outside amidst the disagreeable (to put it nicely) weather. I haven't quite been able to piece together why these photos don't reflect the floods pouring down from heaven--- but trust me, they were there. Yet, I quite feel the rain added a rustic romance to their day... what do you say?

Ben & Michelle: A Lilac & Lemonade Grand Wailea Wedding

Ben & Michelle were one of the most genuine couples we've ever met. From the start, their overwhelming appreciation for art and beauty confirmed we were a match made in heaven. Michelle is "that" girl with the infectious smile and Ben's disposition would win anyone's heart. Perhaps we are partial, but I'm not sure it's possible to look through these images and not fall in love with this couple.

Here's to a fabulous team of vendors:

Jennifer & Joe at the Haiku Mill

You may recognize these two from their engagement session a few posts back. This beautiful couple planned a destination wedding in Maui to celebrate their new life together. Their traditional ceremony was followed by a Chinese Tea Ceremony with the exchanging of tea, jewelry and lucky red envelopes. We loved the incredible honor upheld in this tradition of serving their elders tea. The entire day with three dresses, two ceremonies and one couple was nothing short of enchanting.

Mary & Justin: A Stunning Haiku Mill Wedding

Mary & Justin's wedding this summer was a wedding we thoroughly enjoyed. Their adorable little family of three had such an amazing connection. From the romance of the Haiku Mill and the bride's elegant gown, down to the red lipstick, there was not a detail we weren't smitten with. As you will soon see, the Bride & Groom were certainly the stars of the show.

Ryan & Stacey: A Haiku Mill Wedding

Another beauty at the Haiku Mill. We've decided it is absolutely impossible to not have an insanely beautiful wedding at that venue. This adorable couple were completely in love and had their reception at the Haiku Mill after being married in a Catholic ceremony. The bride's lovely veil was actually hand made by her talented brother or brides"man".  Take a look at all of their lovely details!

Tyler & Lori: A Northshore Maui Wedding

Tyler & Lori said "I do" in a bird sanctuary nestled among the majestic cliffs of Maui's Northshore. The wedding and reception was frequented by highly trained doves who perched upon demand and even took flight into the sunset upon cue. Meanwhile the peacock we discovered proudly unfolded its beauty before us and flaunted until we had our fill. Did I mention that the Bride was incredibly beautiful? Tyler, you weren't too bad yourself. Yet another magical day in the books of Tamiz Photography that left us breathless...

Darren & Tabitha: A Day After Session at the Haiku Mill

Though I can't share their GORGEOUS wedding with you yet, Darren & Tabitha were the most lovely couple you could imagine. Documenting their love was so important to them that they scheduled a "day after" session at the Haiku Mill--- and we loved every second of it.
